Dulce de Leche Recipe

There’s only one – yes one - ingredient in this classic recipe – Eagle Brand® Sweetened Condensed Milk. Cooking Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk transforms it into a luscious caramel sauce – great over ice-cream and frozen yogurt.

Prep Time: 5 minutes plus baking and cooling time
Preheat To: 425ºF (220ºC)
Serving: about 1 1/4 cups (300 mL)

Ingredients:

1 can (300 mL) Eagle Brand® Regular or Low Fat Sweetened Condensed Milk
Assorted dippers (cookies, cake, banana chunks, apple slice, strawberries)

Preparation:

1.  Pour sweetened condensed milk into a 9" (23 cm) ovenproof plate. Cover with foil; place in large shallow baking pan, pour hot water into larger pan to depth of 1" (2.5 cm). Bake in preheated 425°F (220°C) oven 1 hour or until thick and caramel-coloured.
2.  Beat warm sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Cool 1 hour. Refrigerate until serving time.
3.  Serve as dip with assorted dippers. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator for up to 1 week.

CAUTION: Never heat sweetened condensed milk in the can.

I poured 1 can of Eagle Brand No Fat in a pint canning jar, put on seal and ring, water bathed it in a sauce pan in slowly boiling water up to the jar neck for 1 hour. When it cooled I stirred it in the jar and put it on ice cream, Worked Great, no fuss no mess, stored it in the jar in fridge!

have made this so many times now but will say if it is not eagle brand , brand it doesnt work the same or as well , one brand i tryed was like glue and wouldnt melt from that state...wont do that again
