Magic Cookie Bars

Magic Cookie Bars Recipe

The most popular recipe in Eagle Brand® history, this easy one-pan treat debuted in the 1960s as the “Hello Dolly”. 30 years and many variations later, the Magic Cookie Bar ranks No.1 with kids and grand-kids that don’t just gobble them up, they like to make them as well!

Prep Time: 8 minutes plus baking time
Preheat To: 350ºF (180ºC)*
Serving: 24 bars

Ingredients:

2 cups (500 mL) graham wafer crumbs
3/4 cup (175 mL) butter, melted
1 can (300 mL) Eagle Brand® Regular or Low Fat sweetened condensed milk
1 1/3 cups (325 mL) chopped pecans
1 1/3 cups (325 mL) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups (325 mL) flaked coconut

Preparation:

1.  Combine graham crumbs with butter; press evenly onto parchment-lined 13 x 9" (3.5 L) baking pan.
2.  Pour Eagle Brand evenly over crumb crust.
3.  Sprinkle with pecans, chocolate chips and coconut; press down firmly.
4.  Bake in preheated 350ºF (180ºC) oven* 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool thoroughly and cut into bars. (Store loosely covered at room temperature.)


Tips:

To make the 7 Layer Magic Cookie Bar, add 1 cup of Butterscotch chips. *325ºF (160ºC) for glass dish

This is one of my favorite fancy cookie bars for special occaisions especially Xmas! Soooo good ..a way better than any bought candy bar! Thank-you !!

I had no pecans so i used skor bits instead :)

I have a nut allergy... so I substituted raisins for the pecans which makes them chewy! Tastes delicious!

Good with walnuts,instead of the pecans
