Toffee-Topped Pecan Bars

Toffee-Topped Pecan Bars Recipe

Simple, quick and irresistible… and the perfect treat to present in a holiday gift box!

Prep Time: 15 minutes plus baking time
Preheat To: 350ºF (180ºC)*
Serving: 24-36 bars

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups (375 mL) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (125 mL) icing sugar
¾ cup (75 mL) cup cold butter
1 can (300 mL) Regular or Low Fat Eagle Brand® sweetened condensed milk
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
1 cup (250 mL) coarsely chopped pecans, toasted
2/3 pkg (200 g) chocolate-covered toffee bits, or crushed chocolate-covered toffee bars, chopped

Preparation:

1.  Combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Press firmly onto bottom of 13x9” (3.5 L) baking pan. Bake in preheated 350ºF (180ºC) oven* for 15 minutes.
2.  Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine Eagle Brand, egg, and vanilla; mix well. Stir in nuts. Spread evenly over prepared crust. Sprinkle with crushed toffee pieces.
3.  Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool; cut into bars or triangles. Store covered in refrigerator.

Notes:

*325ºF (160ºC) for glass dish

3/4 cup is not 75 ml it's 1/4
