Ingredients
- Wet Batter Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) brown sugar
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
- 6 squares (1 oz / 28 g each) semi-sweet chocolate, melted
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 can (300 mL) Original Eagle Brand® Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Dry Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp (150 mL) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) unsweetened dark cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) baking powder
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
- Additions (optional):
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped nuts
- Garnish:
- icing sugar
Directions
Step 1:
In large bowl, whisk eggs and sugar together. Add remaining wet batter ingredients in order, stirring well after each addition.
Step 2:
In separate bowl, sift dry ingredients together.
Step 3:
Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until mixed. Stir in additions, if desired.
Step 4:
Pour into parchment-paper lined 9" (23 cm) non-stick square pan and bake in preheated 350°F (180°C) oven for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center is almost dry. Cool completely on wire rack. Dust with icing sugar, if desired.
Step 5:
Cut into bars just before serving. Store tightly covered at room temperature.
