Ingredients
- Dry Ingredients:
- 5 cups (1.25 L) regular large flake oats (not quick cooking or instant)
- 1 cup (250 mL) chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1 cup (250 mL) slivered or sliced almonds
- 1 cup (250 mL) unsalted sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp (7.5 mL) cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
- Wet Ingredients:
- 1 can (300 mL) Eagle Brand® Original or Low Fat Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) canola oil
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla
- Dried Fruit:
- 2 cups (500 mL) assorted dried fruit (ie raisins, cranberries, cherries or chopped apricots and figs)
Directions
Step 1:
Toss all dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
Step 2:
In a separate bowl, stir all wet ingredients together. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Spread mixture evenly on two non-stick cookie sheets and bake in preheated 300°F/150°C, stirring every 15 minutes until granola is no longer sticky, about 40-45 minutes. Do not brown.
Step 3:
Remove from oven and let cool 5 minutes. Transfer to bowl and stir in dried fruit. Cool. Store in airtight container.
