Granola Cereal

  • Makes: 10 cups/2.5 L  
  • Preparation Time: 2 minutes plus baking time 

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

5 cups1.25 L regular large flake oats (not quick cooking or instant)

1 cup250 ml chopped walnuts or pecans

1 cup250 ml slivered or sliced almonds

1 cup250 ml unsalted sunflower seeds

½ cup125 ml brown sugar

1½ tsp7.5 ml cinnamon

½ tsp2 ml salt

Wet Ingredients

1 can300 ml Eagle Brand® Regular or Low Fat Sweetened Condensed Milk

½ cup125 ml canola oil

1 tsp5 ml vanilla

Dried Fruit

2 cups500 ml assorted dried fruit (ie raisins, cranberries, cherries or chopped apricots and figs)

Directions

  1 Toss all dry ingredients together in a large bowl.

  2 In a separate bowl, stir all wet ingredients together. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Spread mixture evenly on two non-stick cookie sheets and bake in preheated 300°F/150°C, stirring every 15 minutes until granola is no longer sticky, about 40-45 minutes. Do not brown.

  3 Remove from oven and let cool 5 minutes. Transfer to bowl and stir in dried fruit. Cool. Store in airtight container.
